Personality;

Xigbar is a laid-back dude whose primary language is sarcasm. He’s a snarky bastard, so you kiddies best not forget your homework. Xigbar has a tendency towards (insane) nicknames, teasing and does not sugar coat things. If you are being an idiot, he is going to damn well tell you that. Quite frankly, from the first looks of it, he looks hellish intimidating.

And yet, he is not all bad.

He actually kind of likes younger kids even if they are doofballs. He is pretty laid back so he will let people get away with a lot as long as he doesn’t have to get involved. Sure, he might call you an idiot if you are being one, but once you are his idiot, heaven help whatever tries to hurt, maim, kill or otherwise annoy you. It might take a little while to see that softer side of him, but once you have, you’ll have a good friend.

Also, he is goddamn smart. And has a tendency towards eavesdropping. Because he’s, quite frankly, a curious son of a bitch.

Looks;

Xigbar is not some kind of dainty pansy. Sure he might be a little on the short side (don’t tell him that) but he still looks like he could break you in half and eat you if so inclined. Currently, he takes kickboxing to keep up his physical condition and he’s a pretty limber man. Especially for his age. (don’t tell him that either)

Xigbar has more scars than he can count. The most prominent ones are the ones on his face, but he has a lot of shrapnel and bullet scars all over his body. All courtesy of a decade of army fighting, baby. He has a long scar on his left cheek, running down from beneath his eye to his jaw. And his right eye is just gone. He usually wears an eye patch over it, but where once was his right eye, he now pretty much has a hole in his head. It looks creepy, but it is perfect for Halloween.

Since retiring from the army, Xigbar has not cut his hair, and by now it hangs down to his ~~ass~~ hips. He usually wears it back in a pony tail, but he’ll let it down sometimes when he’s just lazing at home and reading books. Much like his dad before him, Xigbar actually went grey pretty early, and especially the top of his head is now streaked with grey. He’s not some kind of wussy though, so he’s not dyeing it or anything. At least if he looks like an old man, it’ll be more surprising when he kicks them in the gut.

Clothing-wise, Xigbar simply does not give a shit. He’ll wear whatever he wants which means that his clothes can go anywhere from jeans and a t-shirt, to sweaters in the winter to insanely coloured board shorts in the summer. When the weather permits it, he usually does wear his nice, long, black trench coat.

History;

Born into a military family, Xigbar spent most of his childhood moving from base to base. When he was twelve, his father got an extended assignment and for the first time the little family lived in one town for more than a year. Here, Xigbar made his first long-term friends and he discovered his love for both surfing and science. And, realizing how much his father hated the sound of it, he picked up a most excellent surfer accent.

Despite the fact that Xigbar is highly intelligent, school was never really his thing (apart from the sciences classes that is) and once he graduated high school, he joined the military like his father and grandfather before him. Here, he actually thrived and his sniping talents were soon discovered. Rising through the rank quickly, Xigbar spent nearly a decade in the military, primarily as a special operations forces sniper, and he would have stayed longer if it wasn’t for the accident.

While on a mission, Xigbar caught a shrapnel bomb with his face and body. The accident cost him his right eye, left him with more scars than he can count and got him an honorary discharge from the armed forces. For some reason, they couldn’t use a one-eyed sniper.

Xigbar was not the type to sit down and mope however. Once he was recovered and used to not having any depth perception, he turned to the only thing that kept him interested in high school: physics. Aged twenty-eight, he entered college, got his degree in quantum physics and became a teacher. He taught here and there for a few years before he took a job at Cross. Seems like he’s still not used to living in one spot for more than a few years. :|

Also, on the name. His birth name is technically Braig, but since his time in the military Xigbar has gone by Xigbar. He’ll tell you the story of the nickname if you want. It starts with “this one time on leave” and ends with “too drunk to remember my own name”.

He has a lot of stories like that, really.
